Whenever a woman gets engaged, there are visions and expectations of how her wedding day will be. Let’s face it, we look at bridal magazines, attend bridal show after bridal show and even more, maybe some of us even watch “Say Yes to the Dress” and all those other bridal shows.
Many soon-to-be-brides will admit, they are rather hooked on “Say Yes to the Dress” to see what type of emotions the brides-to-be are dealing with and how they bring various people along to help them decide what they want. Brides expect and plan for their wedding day to be a certain way.
Grooms may think about it; they just don’t think as much as the bride. So now you know what you expect to happen on your wedding day. One question to you is what do you expect to happen when it comes to money and marriage? Your money? His money? Who will handle the bills and so much more?
True enough there are couples that don’t even approach this subject before getting married. Professional money managers want to encourage you to have this discussion and many more when it comes to money. Do not set yourself up for disappointment when it comes to money.
When you read set yourself up – it means that you have a fairy tale in your mind when in reality, that is exactly what it is: a fairy tale. Not realistic by any means and you will be let down. Sure; it is a day that many of you have dreamed about. The wedding day. You haven’t dreamed about your marriage?
Now’s the time to begin dreaming about it and seeing it the way you would like it to be. Don’t discount factors that you may already know when it comes to money.
