Susanne Michel, the Owner, Designer, & Pastry Chef at Sweet Arts in Costa Mesa, was born, raised, and educated in a small mountain town in beautiful Switzerland. Susanne was educated as a Chocolatier & Pastry Chef in Berne, Switzerland’s Capital.
Susanne has more than twenty years of experience in the designing of custom wedding cakes, chocolates, petit fours, pulling sugar, designing show pieces, and baking delicious pastries in upscale pastry & Swiss chocolate shops. Susanne also has years of experience working as a pastry chef in some of the most exclusive fine dining restaurants & luxury hotels in California such as Pascal’s, Le Meridien, and the Four Seasons.
As head pastry chef at Sweet Arts, Susanne takes great pride in designing and creating gorgeous custom wedding cakes for her customers’ weddings. She is able to complement these works of art with hand crafted, delicate, edible name cards and also uses her skill to combine calligraphy & chocolate to design wonderful decor elements to bring out the true beauty of custom wedding cakes.
