The most common mistake most engaged couples make when selecting a venue for their wedding is they get so excited that they forget to consider the most important things to do before they start searching for their venue and wind up getting married without being able to make the best choice. Although there are a considerable number of wedding venues in this day and age compared to the past, it is still a wise idea to start searching for the right wedding venue early on. The reminders below will be very helpful in selecting the best venue for your most special day.
1.Don’t get too excited in signing the contract right away.
Always remember the first or the second venue you check out to see will not always be your only choice. Thus, be sure to check everything about the place. Ask relevant questions pertaining to its services, restrictions, accommodations and the like. After you have carefully narrowed down your choices, then that is the time for you to compare them. After selecting the best among your choices, you are now ready to sign the contract.
2.Schedule your visit to the venue on a similar day and time when you will be getting married.
If you are getting married at 2pm on a Sunday, arrange your visit at this time and day. You will then have an idea what the place will be like during your entire wedding. Do you think there is too much light in the room? Will it be too hot for you and the guests outside? You will never know the answer to these questions unless you make your scheduled visit to the venue.
3.Consider the appearance of the venue in different seasons.
Perhaps in the pictures the venue looks fantastic in the summer months, but if you are saying your “I do” in the winter season look for pictures taken in the cold months so that you get a clear representation of the venue during this time of year. Also, when asking questions, ask questions that pertain to the month or season you are tying the knot. You can ask if the venue provides air conditioning, heater and proper lighting.
4.Check out the special accommodations the venue can provide for the guests.
As much as possible choose a wedding location that provides special accommodations such as wheelchair access for guests with disabilities. Does the venue observe proper sanitation? These are important things that you should also consider.
5.Always consider the number of guests you are inviting.
Some venues may be too small or too big for your guests. Remember you are paying for the size of the venue, so it is a good idea to figure out how many guests will be attending prior to your wedding venue hunt. This will help you determine which location to choose.
6.Seek out the professional opinion of your wedding planner.
Your Orange County wedding planner must have lots of experiences when it comes to selecting wedding venues, so you will get to choose better if you take him or her with you to see the venue. You can base your decision from his or her opinions.
