Memorable Wedding Ceremony Ideas
To plan a truly distinctive and memorable wedding ceremony, consider perhaps incorporating some slightly more contemporary or non-traditional wedding ceremony ideas. Using some imagination and creativity will help make your wedding ceremony unforgettable.
Mix The Traditional With The Contemporary For a More Memorable Wedding Ceremony
You can inject individuality and your own unique personality into your wedding ceremony by combining the old with the new. It’s important to honor tradition at a wedding ceremony, so you certainly want to maintain much of the traditional aspect to your wedding ceremony, but you can introduce a few contemporary details to make your ceremony more unique to you. You’ll need to work closely with your ceremony officiant on this one. They’ll have rules and guidelines you must adhere to in deciding what you can and can not do. One way of giving your wedding a more contemporary flavor is through music choices and wedding ceremony song selections. You might also consider writing your own vows if your church and officiant will permit it. Or include more contemporary selections for the readings (poetry, for instance) along with the traditional, religious readings.
Choose a Memorable Wedding Ceremony Location
Keep in mind that you don’t have to hold your wedding ceremony in a church. Other settings can lend themselves beautifully to a wedding ceremony. A beautiful park, a beach, or the landscaped setting of your parents back yard may contribute the element you are looking for to make your wedding ceremony more personalized. Again, these are less traditional options. If tradition is really important to you, it is probably best to stick with a wedding ceremony in a house of worship. This is also recommended if you are very involved in your church or quite religious. If you are thinking of an alternative to a church for your wedding ceremony, don’t make the decision in haste. Be sure to give it very careful consideration and seek the opinion of other’s whose input you value to make sure you don’t do something you may have regrets about later. Remember, you wedding ceremony is one of the most important events in your life. Its the moment you exchange vows that will bond you together for a lifetime. Make sure you’ll be happy with the decisions you make for a lifetime as well.
Sentimental Wedding Ceremony Ideas
Its pretty common for guests to tear up at a wedding ceremony. Watching two people become united in marriage can be a dramatic and powerfully emotional experience. You can enhance the emotion of your wedding ceremony in multitude of ways. Here’s one idea I’ve seen done:
- This idea is a spin-off of the traditional unity candle ceremony, which symbolizes the blending of two families, and two lives becoming one. Rather than just the bride and groom and a representative of each of their families participating in lighting the unity candle, have every guest join in. When they enter the ceremony site, give each of them an unlit candle. After the bride and groom lighting the unity candle, have each guest light their candle from that flame. This will symbolize that they are a part of the married couple’s new life. Because of the logistics and time involved in having a large number of people waiting in line to light their candle, this idea is most appropriate for smaller wedding ceremonies. Obviously, if you have over 250 wedding ceremony guests, it could take up take a lot of time!
